Job Description
Summary/Scope of Role:
Responsible for ensuring products meet the established standards of quality including reliability, usability, and performance as based upon defined specifications agreed upon by the client and the Company, as well as per ISO9001 and AS9100 standards and guidelines. This position requires a strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Follows quality control policies and procedures.
2. Perform first part, work in-process, and final inspections of parts, assemblies, and finished products to verify conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards
3. Perform dimensional inspections on cases and frames to verify: (Inside, outside, overall dimensions).
4. Review and interpret blueprints drawings, work instructions, and quality documentation.
5. Perform First Article Inspections on all required parts and record in accordance with AS9100 or specific Quality Management Systems.
6. Use, maintain, and keep accurate records of calibrated inspection, measurement, and test equipment. Including but not limited to measuring parts using CMM, Calipers, Hite-gauges, Micrometers, and other inspection instruments as required
7. Document inspection results using AS9102 First Article inspection form, work travelers, and Net-Inspect software.
8. Identify and report nonconforming material, assist in separating and documentation of nonconforming product using (NCR Forms).
9. Support root cause analysis and corrective action efforts related to quality issues.
10. Inspect vendor supplied products to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
11. Performs other related duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience with sheet metal and/or machining precision fabrication
• 2+ years of experience in quality inspection within an aerospace, manufacturing, metal fabrication or precision manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Proficient in the use of inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures and height gauges.
• Familiarity with First Article Inspection (FAI) and AS9102 documentation preferred.
• Basic computer skills and experience with excel, word, quality software systems.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication skills.
• General knowledge of machine shop operations
