Job Description

Summary/Scope of Role: Responsible for the set-up and operation of welding machines

and brazing applications by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

1. Requires TIG welding on aluminum, stainless steel and mild steel. Aluminum is

required, others preferred.

2. Requires MIG welding on aluminum and mild steel.

3. Ability to braze aluminum, steel, copper and brass preferably.

4. Interpret verbal and written instructions from works orders and welding blueprints

and able to read a tape measure.

5. Familiarity with common hand tools and able to handle soft metals without

scratches and dents.

6. Sets up and operates gas welding machines to weld metal parts. Regulates flow

of gases for proper mixture.

7. Sets up and operates all phases of brazing applications using clamps, fixtures and

torches working to specified tolerances.

8. Responsible for changing weld cups, electrodes and any other tooling to maintain

quality and production standards.

9. Produce and maintain metal products and structures according to client

specifications.

10.Cleans parts to remove contamination prior to welding.

11.Follows all safety guidelines, including proper machine guarding and lockout and

tagout procedures. Maintains tools, gauges and equipment in a clean, orderly and

safe manner.

12.Collaborates with a team and provides solutions for work productivity.

13. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or Equivalent. Prior welding experience helpful.

(With prior experience, High School Diploma may be waived if working as part of a high school work program.)

Other Requirements:

• MIG and TIG aluminum minimum 2 years experience required.

• Requires the ability to wear welding specific personal protective equipment including helmet, gloves and leathers.

• Must comply with and meet all pre-employment requisites, including but not limited to criminal background check prior to start date, and pre-employment and random drug testing in accordance with Company policy for the duration of

employment

Salary Range Up to $29 / hr
