Job Description
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
· Operate and maintains coil to Bar machine and assists facility on occasion using yard crane.
· Ensures the team follows defined operational and safety procedures.
· Carry out production, inspection, packaging, and machine operation duties.
· Effectively monitor production equipment.
· Work with and around materials that may be heavy or sharp.
· Work in various areas of the plant as required.
· Dependent on the area, environmental conditions can be hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, and noisy.
· Comply with safety and health regulations for the protection of self and fellow workers.
· Must wear personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, etc., as outlined in established department PPE policy.
Skills, Abilities, and Experience Required:
· Large sturdy build required for this position to operate machine.
· Industrial machine operator experience preferred for this machine, or a strong mechanical aptitude.
· Experience using mobile equipment and overhead crane operations preferred.
· Utilizing measuring tools such as rulers, tapes, and micrometers.
· Must be able to calculate high school mathematical problems.
· Ability to fill out forms and reports.
· Continuous standing, lifting, bending, twisting, stooping, and pulling throughout a shift.
· Ability to work independently.
· Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
PPE and Attire:
Steel toe shoes (does not have to be lace up), safety glasses, hard hat.
Employees are only responsible for providing steel toe shoes.
Temps may wear jeans and T-shirts if they are not baggy, saggy, or inappropriate/offensive. Long sleeves may be worn in cooler months so long as they are not lose or too long so they cannot get caught in machinery.
